Roy F. Argyle,age 88, of Bay City, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at Bay Special Care Hospital in Bay City. He was born December 27, 1925 in Mikado to Samuel and Sarah (Hayward) Argyle. Roy served in the army in WWII, where he was in the European Theatre and the Battle of the Bulge. On August 22, 1953 he married Betty Badenhoop. They moved to Bay City where Roy was employed at Prestolite for over 40 years. He was member of Faith Lutheran Church of Bay City and Burger Wiedbrauk Post 8135 V. F.W. of Barton City and the Barton City Eagles Aerie 4141. He loved being with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working with his tractor at his property in Mikado. He was a perfectionist and a jack of all trades, always willing to help others with his warm smile and twinkle in his eye and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and one daughter, Kerry (Al) Argyle-Kohler of Traverse City, one sister Shirley (Vern) Schwab of Bay City and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Argyle and Alma Gottleber and four brothers, Henry, Edmund, Eugene and Samuel Jr. He is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 P.M.. Funeral service will be Monday, November 3, 2014,1:00 P.M. at the funeral home, Rev. Daniel C. Meckes officiating. Interment will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City. A luncheon will follow.
