Evelyn M. Tacia, 94, of Spruce, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City. Born April 12, 1911, to Frank and Jennie (Olson) Larson in Spruce, she was a lifelong resident. On June 27, 1929, she married Halley R. Tacia; he preceded her in death on October 23, 1979. Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln. She is survived by 2 daughters, Eleanor (Joseph) Mosley of Oscoda, and Sandra (Nick) Williams of Spruce, 2 sons, Donald (Betty) of Phoenix AZ, and David (Linda) of Spruce, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Violet Daggett of Alpena, Helen Wells of Dearborn, Edythe Cloutier of Farmington Hills, and Dorothy Kisseau of Dearborn Heights, and one sister-in-law, Alma Tacia of Spruce. She was preceded in death by a grandson David, by 3 sisters, Myrtle Rayburn, Florence Bushey, and Arlene Williams, and by one brother Lloyd. Mrs. Tacia is at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Sunday, January 8 from 2 until 7 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 9, at the Spruce Presbyterian Church from 10 AM until the funeral at 11, with Rev. Steve Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce in the Spring. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.
