Eleanor C. McKenzie, 93, of East Tawas, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Lakeview Manor in Tawas City. Born August 6, 1921 to Erwin and Kittie (Freeman) Terry in Detroit, she was raised there. On August 31, 1940, she married Richard Alexander McKenzie in Detroit. Eleanor worked as a sales clerk for Kmart. She was a longtime resident of Florida, moving to Harrisville in 2003. Eleanor attended the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed activities at the ACCOA in Lincoln. She was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed playing cards and dice games. She loved her family and friends, and will be sorely missed. Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Faye Bolek of Oscoda and Patricia Jilbert of East Tawas, two sons, Larry (Alice) McKenzie of The Villages Florida, and Robert (Lela) McKenzie of Lincoln, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Christine Abdo of Romulus, and Marion Terry of Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on August 8, 1990, her grandson Robbie McKenzie, her son-in-law Ron Jilbert, and her brother Garold Terry. Eleanor's family will receive visitors from 1:00 P.M. until the memorial service at 4:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Cremation arrangements were handled through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
