Dennis D. Gauthier, 58, of Black River, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Born on June 17, 1947, in Alpena MI to David and Genevieve (Mercier) Gauthier he was a lifetime resident of Black River. On March 21, 1980, he married Laurie Scott. A veteran of the United States Army, Dennis served in the Vietnam War, and received a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the William Moore VFW Post #6754, and a charter member of the Ossineke Eagles Aerie 6762. Dennis is survived by his wife, Laurie, one Daughter; Jennifer (Richard Rupright) Gauthier of Spruce, three sons; Edward (Rebecca) of Spruce, Daniel of Ossineke, and Trevor of Allendale, his mother, Genevieve, 8 grandchildren; Rodney, Danielle, McKenzie, Nicole, David, Stephanie, Keely, and Paige, two step grandchildren; Rachel and Kaitlin,6 sisters; Rosemary (Roger) Bouchard and Shelia Gauthier of Black River, Sylvia (John) Werner, Victoria (Mark) King, of Alpena, Lisa (Ray) Coy of Howell, and Tamara (Bart) of Holly, and one brother; Christopher (Tina) of Black River. Mr. Gauthier is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Friday, December 30 from 3 until 9 PM, with an Eagles service at 7 pm. The funeral will be on Saturday, December 31, at 11 AM, Rev. Stan Bereda officiating. A graveside service at Pleasant View Cemetery will follow.
