David G. Tacia, 73, of Spruce, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born August 26, 1940 to Halley and Evelyn (Larson) Tacia in Spruce, he was raised there. On September 1, 1962, he married Linda Kay Aube in Ossineke. He worked in many places throughout the state, primarily as a library director, including 15 years in Big Rapids. While in Big Rapids, he was active in school sports, served as a member of the School Board, and was a member of the Optimist Club, where he served as president. In 2000 he returned to Spruce, where he developed and operated the Monarch Golf Course. He was active with the Alcona Historical Society, and was a member of the Alcona Township Planning Committee, and of the Ossineke Eagles Club. He is survived by his wife, Linda, two daughters, Susan (Tod) Rawling of Rochester Hills and Karen (Rob) Anderson of Charlotte, three sons, Peter (Victoria) Tacia of Alma, John (Nancy Stanley) Tacia of Southfield, and Matthew (Lynn) Tacia of Clarkston, ten grandchildren, David and Benjamin Tacia, Alyssa and Abigail Rawling, Kirstin, Justin, and Lauren Anderson, and Logan, Nolan, and Regan Tacia, two sisters, Eleanor (Andy) Mosley of Alpena, and Sandra (Nick) Williams of Spruce, one brother, Donald (Betty) Tacia of Phoenix, AZ, as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday May 23, from 1:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 24 from 9:00 until the memorial service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial donations suggested to the Alcona Athletic Association. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
