Anna M. Apsey, 104, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, December 12, 2005 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Born on July 6, 1901, to John and Josephine (Rogus) Cubalo, in Lincoln, she lived there most of her life. On January 31, 1925, she married Russell Apsey in Alpena. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1971. Anna was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church, as well as the Altar Society. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and was a gifted seamstress. Anna was also an avid hunter, and loved spending time in the woods. Mrs. Apsey is survived by two daughters; Margaret (Donald) Read of Lincoln, and Wilma Apsey of Alpena, three grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, a sister; Julia Nichol of Rogers City, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Apsey is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 14, from 3 pm until 9 pm, with a Rosary service at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Harrisville, on Thursday, December 15, at 11 AM, Father Lawrence Boks officiating. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery in the spring.
