Hazel Fern Moore

Hazel Fern Moore, 95, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Born on September 24, 1912 to William and Louise (Dodge) Somers, in Lincoln, she was raised there. On November 7, 1933, she married Milton H. Moore, and they were residents of Harrisville. A devoted homemaker, Hazel enjoyed her family, friends, and neighbors. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harrisville. Hazel is survived by her two sons, Gerald (Theresa) Moore of Mio, and Carl (Barbara) Moore of Harrisville, 5 grandchildren; Mary, Marty, Melody, Robert, and Bryon, 5 great grandchildren, Shauwn, Candy, Alyssa, Peyton and Parker, two sisters, Maxine Bouchard and Wilma (Norman) Oliver, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very close friend, Betty Hames. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband on May 16, 1990, three sisters, Lucille Meredith, Ada Paddison, and Leora Cornelius, and three brothers, Milo Somers, Gene Somers, and Herman Somers. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at the Harrisville United Methodist Church.
