Mark A. Johnson, 65, of Glennie died Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born in Romulus, MI on January 12, 1948 to Donald and Catherine (Delaney) Johnson. He lived and worked in the Detroit area as a tool maker. Mark married Ruth Kaczmarek in 1975. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Mark and his wife moved to Glennie in 1994. He was a member of the Barton City Eagles Aerie # 4141, the American Legion Mikado Post #254, the D.A.V., and A.B.A.T.E. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, one daughter Catherine Johnson (James Holland) of Brighton,two grandchildren, a sister Christine (Mike) Mitchell of Wixom and a brother Michael of Westland. He was preceded in death by his son Luke Johnson, on March 4, 2013. Mr. Johnson is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln where visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 4-8:00 PM. with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Mikado from 10:00 A.M., until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. , with Fr. Bob Bisset officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. His ashes will be interred in St. Raphael’s Cemetery.
