Joanne Esther Kohler

Joanne E. Kohler, age 80, of Barton City passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at home. She was born July 16, 1933 in Detroit to William and Alice (Meredith) Rindle. Joanne was raised in the Brighton area and married George Kohler in 1949, moving to Barton City. She owned and operated Kohler’s Flowers of Lincoln from 1959 until 1999 when she retired. Her husband preceded her in death January 9, 1979. Her son Bill preceded her in death May 2, 1992 and her daughter Susan Kohler preceded her in death June 25, 2004. She is survived by four daughters, Sarah (Gary) Casey, Alice Kohler, Linda Dean and Deanna Kohler, four sons, George, Ronald (Anita), David (Renee) and Robert(Tricia), fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Thomson and one brother, William Rindle. Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral at 3:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Interment will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City.
