Alta Marvel Camp

Alta M. Camp, 84, of Glennie died Saturday May 3, 2008 at home. She was born Feb.27, 1924 in Glennie to Rufus and Ethel (Rose) Smith. Raised in Glennie, Alta married Edward W. Camp on April 29, 1946. Long time Glennie residents; they lived in Lincoln Park from 1962 until 1970 when they moved to Fairview, returning to Glennie in 1980. She attended Lott Baptist Church in Glennie. Survivors include her husband, Edward, and one daughter, Leanna (Thomas) Jonseck of Glennie, one son William R. (Lynda) Camp of Elizabethtown Ky, five grandchildren, Valerie, Belinda, Shane, Eric and Caleb and one great granddaughter, Cassie. Her sister, Dorothy Katona and two brothers William and Willard Smith preceded her in death. Mrs. Camp is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Monday, May 5, from 4-8 P.M. Her funeral will be Tuesday May 6, at 2 P.M. at the Lott Baptist Church in Glennie, Rev. Michael VanZee will officiate. She will lie in State at the church from 12 P.M. until the funeral.
