Kenneth George Ward, 81, 0f Greenbush passed away August 30, 2013 at Saginaw Covenant Health Care. Born August 13, 1932 to Harry and Blanche (Morrison) Ward in Mikado, he was raised there. Kenneth served in the Korean War where he was a member of the US Army. He was married to Antoinette Candela for 44 years. They were residents of Flint, where Kenneth worked as a floor tiler, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator before moving to Greenbush in 1972. Antoinette preceded him in death on March 4, 2005. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Oscoda Post 3735, The American Legion, Mikado Post 254, the 40 and 8 and the Oscoda Eagles Aerie 4237. He is survived by four daughters, Ella Shreve of Millington, Nina Rosum of Grand Blanc, Patty (Al) Olmstead of Millington, and Betty Ward of Greenbush, four sons, Harwood of Greenbush, Jimmy Lee of Greenbush, Kenny of Clio, and Robert (Jeannette) of North Branch, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, two brothers, Melvin (Gertie) of Greenbush, and Arnold (Ruth) of Oscoda, and one sister-in-law, Verda Ward of Greenbush. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Jones, two brothers, Floyd and Irven, and two sons-in-law, Richard Shreve and John Rosum. Mr. Ward is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be Friday, September 6, from 2 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 7, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Edward Morrison will officiate. Burial will be at the Mikado Cemetery. Memorial donations suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Michigan.
