Gail Fitch, 65, of Mikado, MI, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at her home. Born on January 21, 1940 to James and Margaret (Wood) Hughes in Standish, MI, she moved to Harrisville in 1946. She graduated from Alcona High School, and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University. A gifted musician, Gail taught Elementary and Jr. High School music for 25 years, spending most of those years at Huron Valley Schools in Highland. On September 21, 1990, she married Michael Fitch, and they moved to Mikado in 1995. Gail was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado, where she played the organ, and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, Sunrise Harmony Chapter, and of TOPS. Mrs. Fitch is survived by her husband, two daughters; Monika Senical of Harrisville, MI and Laurie (Jeff) True, two sons; Cliff Senical, of Gulfport Mississippi, and Kevin (Tina) Fitch, of Goodrich MI, one brother; Russell (Jackie) Hughes of Kansas City, Kansas, and seven grandchildren; Carley True, Macey Fitch, Jeffrey True, Jacob True, Kyle Fitch, Dean Fitch, and Austin Senical. Mrs. Fitch is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, Michigan, where visitation will take place on Thursday, November 3, from 2 until 5 pm, and from 7 until 9 pm. Visitation continues on Friday, November 4, from 12 noon until the funeral at 1 pm, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado, Rev. Timothy Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Springport Cemetery, Harrisville. Memorials suggested to Hospice of Michigan, Northeastern Unit.
