Lloyd Ranger, age 84 of Harrisville died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born March 14, 1929 in Alpena to Nickolas and Helen (Lessard) Ranger. Raised in Hawes Township, he married Edna Struthers on April 23, 1955. Lloyd served in the US Army from 1946 until 1949 where he was stationed in Germany. In 1950 he joined the US Air Force, retiring in 1971 as a Chief Master Sergeant. They moved to Lincoln. Edna preceded him in death on August 2, 1995. On September 13, 1997 Lloyd married Yvonne (Bonnie) Timmons. They resided in Mikado. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church of Harrisville. Lloyd enjoyed his grandchildren, loved to hunt and was an avid gardener. Lloyd is survived by his wife and three daughters, Julie (William) Eberhardt of Harrisville, Jill (Peter) McLaughlin of Wakefield, Rhode Island and Gail (Mark) Elliott of West Liberty, Ohio, two sons, Michael (Emelyn) Ranger of Midwest, Oklahoma and Douglas (Kathy ) Ranger of Carthage, North Carolina, three grandchildren Jessica, Brittany and Sam; three great grandchildren, Trinity, Brielle and Jaxsen, five sisters, Beatrice Wojnar of Harrisville, Norma Williams of Harrisville, Helen Skiver of East Tawas, Virgilene (Joe) Smith of Herron, and Christine Kurkerwicz of Alpena, one brother, Don (Earlene) Ranger of Barton City, four stepchildren, Lawrence Winters of Oscoda, Douglas (Jean) Winters of Oscoda, Terri (Steven) Ferguson of Macomb and Brian Winters of Sterling Heights. Nine step grandchildren, Michael, Kayleigh, Kyle, Brendan, Logan, Douglas, Erika, Morgan, and Megan. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Zingaro, two brothers, Robert (Bud) Ranger and Dale Ranger, and two step grandchildren, Molly and Mckenzie. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Harrisville. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Boks will officiate. Lloyd’s family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 A.M. that day. A rosary will be said at 10:00 A.M. His ashes will be interred at St. Anne Cemetery.
