Ernest Burgoyne, age 95 of Harrisville, died October 23, 2005 in Rogers City. He was born April 9, 1910 to Rachel and William Burgoyne in Trimountain, MI. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Exoria Burgoyne (Residing at Jamieson Nursing Home) He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Previous to moving to Harrisville in 1942 they resided in Detroit where he was a tool and die maker. A longtime employee of the Alcona County Road Commission, retiring in 1972,he farmed until 1998 when he developed Alzheimer’s disease, moving to Tendercare of Rogers City. His son, Norbert preceded him in death in 1989. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Alice Pyne of Fenton, William (wife Pat) Burgoyne of Sebewaing, Richard (wife Shirley Hethorn) of Lincoln, Ernest C. (wife Diane) of Hubbard Lake and Mary McGlocklin of Gahanna, OH.. 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive. A memorial service was held Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Harrisville. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. His ashes were interred at St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery, Harrisville. Memorials suggested to Alzheimer’s Research or charity of your choice.
