Genevieve Amelia Stach, 97, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at home. Born on November, 29, 1910 in Meriden, CT to Antony and Sofia (Brish) Kudla, she lived in Poland for years before settling in Alcona County, where she has been a resident for the past fifty years. In May of 1929, she married Walter Stach. They were farmers, and Genevieve was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. Genevieve enjoyed many things, such as card playing, watching the news and the game show “The Price is Right”, she also enjoyed cooking. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Julia Stach; three grandchildren Lisa Wisniewski, Shannon Green, and Richard Stach, three great grandchildren, Hayden and Hunter Wisniewski, and Brooke Davis, sister-in-law Stella Kudla, and niece Maxine Sterner. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Walter, two sons Edward and Richard Stach, 4 brothers, Walter, Edward, Theodore, and Benjamin, and a sister Amelia. Mrs. Stach is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Sunday, April 6, from 2 until 8 pm, with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 7, at 11:00am, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Harrisville. Rev. Peter Eke will officiate.
