Mary Bastion of Lincoln (LLWC) formerly of Flint, age 77 completed her beautiful life's journey and went to be with the Lord May 23, 2013. She passed away at her home in Lincoln, MI surrounded by her loving husband Richard Bastion and family. Mary was born February 11, 1936 in Flint, MI to Don and A. Irene (Thompson) Cruthers. Mary attended Hurley School of Nursing in 1954 and worked as a nurse for most of her life. Mary married Richard Bastion on March 12, 1955 in Flint, MI. They lived together in Flint, MI where they had three children together Donald, Michael and Lynn (Bastion) Michel. Mary and Richard retired in 1988 and moved to Lost Lake Woods in Lincoln, MI. Here Mary enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, fishing and the wonderful friendships that she formed over the years and volunteering for the community. Mary and Richard enjoyed their summers together camping in Wyoming and their many friends they made while traveling to the great state of Wyoming. Mary was very active in her community, she was a member of many organizations; Red Hats, First Baptist Church of Lincoln, LLWC Book club. She was secretary at the Crafter's Cabin and for the Women's Mission Society. She also volunteered at My Brother's Hope (Harrisville) Baby Pantry and at the LLWC history room and many committees. Mary is survived by her husband Richard Bastion and Children Michael (Frances) Bastion, Lynn (Patrick) Michel, Donald Bastion and Family; Grandchildren Jacquelyn Bastion, Matthew Bastion, Kathryn (Joel) Hoffman, Thomas Michel, Jennifer Hazel, Wendy (Jeffrey) Antcliff; Great Grandchildren)Kelsey Michel, Matison Hazel, and namesake Elizabeth Lynn Hoffman; Great Great Grandchild Cooper Sovis; Brother William (Alice) Cruthers; Sister in Law Betty (William) Dell and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was proceeded in death by her parents Don and Irene Cruthers and her brother Robert Cruthers. She was loved by all and will be missed by all that knew her. Donations can be made in memory of Mary to My Brothers Hope Baby Pantry of Harrisville, and the First Baptist Church of Lincoln. The Funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lincoln on Monday May 27, 2013 Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:00, Funeral will begin at 1:00 with dinner to follow.
