Hugh Gerald Hodges, Jr.

Hugh Gerald Hodges Jr., 83, of Oscoda, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home, with his family present. Born in Vidor, Texas he moved to Clinton Twp. Mi., after serving in the USAF as a jet mechanic, where he worked as a Fireman for Clinton Twp Fire Dept until his retirement, at the rank of Sergeant, after which he and his wife moved to Oscoda, Mi. He is survived by his wife Carol (Poland) Hodges, daughter Brenda Hodges-Dodson of Grass Valley, Ca., son Hugh Hodges of New Baltimore, Mi., and son Joseph Hodges of Morresburg, Tn.. He is also survived by 5 grand children, 10 great grand children, 1 great great grandchild, his sisters Joyce Brown and Mary Ann Gallier of Hemphill Texas and brother Newton Hodges of Vidor, Texas. He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Hodges. Mr. Hodges is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will take place on Thursday, May 23, from 4 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 24 at Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado, from 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery, Oscoda. Memorial donations suggested to Hospice of Michigan.
