Lowell E. Thompson, 77, of Mikado died Thursday, Feb.28, 2008 at Jamieson Nursing Home, Harrisville. Born Dec.30, 1930 in Oscoda to Fred and Ionia (Clark) Thompson, Lowell was a lifelong resident of Mikado except for time spent in the Army, where he served in Korea in the period following the Korean War. He was employed by Rolled Products of Oscoda and Starboard Industries of East Tawas before retiring. Survivors include four brothers, Eddie of Mikado, Abe (Lila) of Abingdon VA, Fred (Janet) of Harrisville and Hank of Harrisville and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Zelpha Lakeman preceded him in death. Private funeral services will be held Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Spring burial will take place in Springport Cemetery, Harrisville.
