Barbara Jean Cessna

Barbara Jean Cessna, 53, of Beaverton, Oregon passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at her home. She was born December 26, 1959 to Ronald L. and Shelvy J. (Custer) Cessna at Lockbourne AFB in Columbus Ohio. An Air Force Dependant, she traveled extensively and attended school in various places. In 1977, she graduated from Oscoda High School in Michigan. Barb attended Davenport College in Grand Rapids, MI. After a brief illness with Addison’s disease, she went back to travelling. She found work in Traverse City MI, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, Seattle WA, and Portland OR. She loved travelling, sightseeing, and dining out. Barb was a devoted member of the New Thought Center for Spiritual Living in Lake Oswego, OR. Barb is survived by her father, Ron of Mikado, MI, one sister, Laura Hollnagel of Harrisville, MI, one brother, Ron (Dayle) Cessna Jr. of Haysville KS, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, too numerous to name. She is also survived by her dear friend, Susan Rook and her daughter Mara of Beaverton OR. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shelvy, in July 2011. A private memorial service will be held.
