Lois M. LaVergne, 51, of Black River died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born June 13, 1954 to Edward and Yvonne (Potvin) LaFave in Black River she was raised there. Lois attended Alcona High School and was married to Frederick J. LaVergne Jr. on March 7, 1970 in Black River. Bay City residents from 1970 to 1983, they returned to Black River. She was employed by Northeast Michigan Mental Health for 18 years, the past 12 at the Mill Creek Home. Lois was a dedicated caregiver, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She will be sadly missed by all she touched. She is survived by her husband, a daughter Angela LaVergne (companion, Alissa Bouchard) of Lincoln a son Edward J. (Renee) of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Brock and Trenton LaVergne and Kaitlyn Campbell; two sisters, Janet DeLorge of Ossineke and DeEtta (Jeffrey) Campbell of Lewiston; seven brothers, Donald (Sherry) of Black River, Barry (Sharon) of Mikado, James (Marcia) of Long Lake, Kim (Lori) of Black River, Duane (Faith ) Spruce, Scott (Laurie) of Hubbard Lake, Darryl ( Hope) of Harrisville. Visitation begins on Saturday from 5 to 9 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln and continues on Sunday at 11:00 AM until the funeral at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Steiner officiating.
