Frederick A. Karow, 72 of Oscoda, formerly of Lincoln, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home. Born March 24, 1940 to Elmer and Anna (Magee) Karow in Saginaw, MI, he was raised there. On December 25, 1959, he married Jo Ann Metiva in Saginaw. Fred served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring from Wurtsmith Air Force Base in 1982 as a Master Sergeant. Fred was a talented musician, and played the guitar, harmonica, and trumpet. He enjoyed riding and repairing motorcycles, and building and flying model airplanes. He is survived by two daughters; Marney Martin and Amelia Griffith; three sons, Lawrence (Shelley), Alan and Edward Karow; 18 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two brothers; Phillip (JoAnn) and Bruce (Marilyn) Karow. He was preceded in death by his wife; Jo Ann on November 10, 1982, and his daughter, Linda Karow on September 5, 2012. Funeral Services will be on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Lincoln United Methodist Church, at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Rev. Dr. Lawrence Karow will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery in the spring.
