Linton N. Fowler, Sr., of Harrisville, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Born May 3, 1956 to Norman and Mabel (Tait) Fowler in Alpena, he was a lifelong resident of Gustin Township. On April 30, 1973, he married Brenda Michaud in Lincoln. Linton owned and operated Bear Forest Products for 25 years, and was currently employed by Inman Forest Products. He loved nature, and enjoyed driving through the woods looking at trees. Linton loved living in such a caring community, and was very grateful to have so many wonderful friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, two daughters, Leah (Aaron) Petitti; and Linnette (R.J.) Hill, one son, Linton (Pamela) Fowler Jr., nine grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, Jacob, and Jenna Fowler; Raelynn Hill; Travis Fowler; Matthew Petitti; and Alexis and Aiden Hill, eight sisters, Linda, Nancy, Barbara, Norma, Dora, Joyce, Lynn, and Suzanne, one brother, Aubrey “Hank” Grush, many nieces and nephews, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Sylvia Michaud, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gay (Rich) Weir, Kathy (Bob) Goddard, Lloyd (Kimberly) Michaud and Sharon Michaud. Mr. Fowler is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 28, at the funeral home, from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Laraine Sundin will officiate. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery.
