Oscar Frederick Fernsemer, 83, of Greenbush, died Friday Feb. 1, 2008 at Jamieson Adult Foster Care Home, Harrisville. Born March 3, 1924 in Lincoln to Katherine (McLaurin) and Oscar F.A. Fernsemer, Fred was raised in Lincoln and graduated from Oscoda High School. He served in the Army in WWII. He was a resident of Lake Orion from 1948 until 1970 where he owned and operated Custom Services. Fred was a resident of Mikado and Greenbush after moving from Lake Orion. In addition to Custom Services he operated many businesses which included services such as asphalt paving and wood hauling as well as commercial trucking. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Barton City. Survivors include four daughters, Janice M. Sims of Metamora, Janet S. Obeji of Carbondale Co, Paula K. Eid of Key West, FL and Beverly Ann Fernsemer of Saginaw, three sons, Frederick W. Fernsemer of Hopkins MN, Larry D. Fernsemer of Hillsboro OR and Brian Fernsemer of Kewadin MI., six grandchildren two great grandchildren, two sisters, Arden Basselman of Barton City Mi, Lilith Schwickert of Harrisville MI and one brother Lloyd Michaud of Mikado, MI.. A son Michael, a sister Twila Travis and one grandson preceded him in death. Visitation 5-8 P.M. Monday at Gillies Funeral Home, (gilliesfuneralhomes.com) Lincoln, MI. Funeral service will be at the funeral home Tuesday 11 A.M. with Rev. Laraine Sundin officiating. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
