William T. LaRoche

William T. LaRoche, 80, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at his home. Born December 19, 1931 to Ambrose and Anna (Rienke) LaRoche in Alpena, he was raised there. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 18, 1953, he married Grace Barber in Warren where they were longtime residents. Bill worked as a yardman for OMS manufacturing, retiring to Lincoln in 1997. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and working in his garage. He had a natural talent for fixing motors and other machines. Bill was a member of Solid Rock Church of God in Harrisville. He is survived by his wife Grace; foster son, Michael Schartow, and a special nephew, Paul Labadie, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Solid Rock Church of God in Harrisville at 12:00 P.M., with a luncheon to follow. Rev. Edward Morrison will officiate. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations suggested to Solid Rock Church of God or Hospice of the Sunrise Shore.
