Mary R. Ranger, 81, of East Tawas formerly of Mikado died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. Mary was born in Alpena on September 29, 1926 to Elmer and Helen (Tolan) Banks. She was raised in Alpena and on September 11, 1945 married M. Ray Ranger. They lived in Barton City, then moved to Mikado in 1967 and the past 4 years they lived in Tawas City. Mary was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked at Parts Manufacturing of Harrisville and later Oscoda from 1964-1974. She was preceded in death by her husband M. Ray on November 22, 2007, and two sons, Gene on June 6, 1998 and Ray on June 28, 1993. Mary is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Robert) Collins of Mikado; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln at 1 P.M. where the funeral will be at 2 P.M., Rev. Tim Steiner officiating. Burial will be in the Mikado Cemetery, Mikado.
