Richard LeRoy Herrera, 67, of Barton City, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at home. He was born March 28, 1940 in San Antonio, TX to Miguel and Evelyn (McCaulley) Herrera and was raised there. Richard moved to California in 1955. He married Shirley Sylvia on September 24, 1958 in Las Vegas, NV. They were longtime Glendora, CA residents moving to Clio in 1970 and then to Barton City in 1979. Richard was a member of the Barton City Eagles Aerie 4141. Survivors include his wife and two daughters, Annette (David) Young of Durand and Lisa (Lynn) Mattice of Durand; his son Richard Herrera, Jr. of Durand; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer)Young, Tehea Young, Ashley Young, Tasha Helmer, Heather(Matt) Winegar, Tiffany Mattice, Melissa Herrera, Richard Herrera III and Michael Herrera; Five great grandchildren Jordynn Young, Breanna Young, Dominick Rosher,Caleb Herrera, and Hunter Young, his sister Crystal (Art) Carmona of Kawkawlin; two brothers Michael (Bud)of Brainerd MN and John (Jack) of Bandera, TX. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Herrera of Barton City . His father, Miguel, preceded him in death 0n Feb.16, 1984 and his brother, Timothy preceded him in death on Feb.21,2005. Visitation will be Saturday from 6- 8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Sunday at 12:45 P.M. with Rev. Peter Eke officiating. Spring burial will take place in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City.
