George W. St. John, Jr., 83 of Mikado, MI, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Saginaw St. Mary’s Hospital. Born August 11, 1929 to George and Olive (Yeager) St. John Sr., in Bend, Oregon, he was raised there. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, later joining the U.S.Marine Corps. George was a resident of Washington State ,was married to Mary Tatum in Chula Vista California on January 11, 1972 where they resided, later moving to Oregon. They have been Mikado residents since 2004. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Christ latter day Saints Church. George is survived by his wife, Mary, four daughters, Deborah Calhoun, Sandra Miller, Kyra St. John and Erin (Glenn) Harmon, three sons, David (Elaine) Calhoun, Gary (Kandy) Calhoun, and James St. John, 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, one sister, Laura Jones, as well as extended family members; Donald Wilson, Terry and Kim Mason, Charles Juris, Robert Robbins, Tom and Shirley Harmon, Margaret Redmond, and the Seaquist Family. He was preceded in death by his son; Daniel St. John in 1985, one grandson; Benjamin Bartmess, one brother; James St. John, and one sister; Dora St. John. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the Mikado Community of Christ Church, Mikado. Rev. Char McGuire will officiate. Cremation arrangements have been made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
