Herman F. Leipold, 87, of Tawas City died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. He was born July 12, 1920 in Saginaw where he was raised. He was a veteran of World War II. Herman was a longtime Harrisville resident and had lived in Tawas City for the past two years. Mr. Leipold was a sheet metal worker for many years and had worked in construction. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW the Elks and Moose. Survivors include two daughters, Janet O’Connor of Harrisville and Joyce Vetter of Greenbush, one son Frederick of Rome, GA, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two sisters, Louise Lane of Saginaw and Caroline Markey of Saginaw and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Leipold is at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville, where friends may call Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 4-6 P.M. and on Friday from Noon until the funeral at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Springport Cemetery, Harrisville.
