M. Ray Ranger, 85, of East Tawas, formerly Mikado, passed away November 22, 2007 at his home. Born on November 8, 1922 in Harrisville, to John and Isabel (Gibbs) Ranger, he was raised in Barton City. On September 11, 1945, he married Mary R. Banks. They were residents of Barton City where they farmed until moving to Mikado in 1967 where they also operated a farm. They moved to East Tawas in 2005. M. Ray loved farming and animals, he also enjoyed parades, the Detroit Tigers, and deer hunting. M. Ray is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter; Larraine (Robert) Collins of Mikado, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister; Donna Anderson of Napa, California, Sister in Law; Betty Ranger , Brother in Law; Dick Ross, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons; Ray on June 28, 1993, and Gene on June 8, 1998. Funeral Services were November 26, 2007 at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Pastor Tim Steiner officiating. Mr. Ranger was buried in Mikado Cemetery, Mikado.
