Gregory James Schisler

Gregory James Schisler, 40, of Mikado, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at home. Born April 21, 1967 in Japan to Kenneth and Nancy (Spicka). Greg was raised in Mikado and graduated from Oscoda High School in 1986. He later earned a bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University. He was active in the Oscoda School Wrestling Program as a coach and was a Cub Scout Leader. He was a member of St. Raphaels Catholic Church in Mikado and of the Knight of Columbus, Alcona Council #4235, where he was a past Grand Knight and of the 4th Degree Alpena assembly #485. Greg was a substitute teacher in the Oscoda, Tawas and Alcona School Systems as well as in IRECA. He was an employee of K & P Traffic Markings of Mikado. Greg is survived by his wife, Delia (Lawrence) Schisler, three sons Alex, Lawrence and Hunter; his mother and father, Nancy and Kenneth Schisler of Mikado; one sister Diane (Ron) Judd of Denver, CO; two brothers Eric (Rebecca) Schisler of St. Charles, IL and Charles (Karen) Schisler of Mikado. Family and Friends may call Friday, November 23, 2007 from 2 – 9 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where there will be a rosary at 7:00 P.M. and the 4th degree will stand honor guard from7:30-9 P.M. Visitation continues on Saturday at 10 A.M. at St. Raphaels Catholic Church in Mikado until the Mass at 11 A.M. Burial will take place in St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Mikado.
