Kurt L. Smith

Kurt L. Smith, 69, of Glennie, formerly of Flint, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at his home. Born June 22, 1943, to Coran and Florence (Pierce) Smith in Flint, he was raised there. Kurt served in the United States Navy at the Cuban Blockade. On June 18, 1966, he married Georgia Prentice in Glennie, and they resided in Flint. Kurt worked for General Motors, as a Fork Lift Operator for Chevrolet, retiring on June 1, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Georgia; two daughters, Deborah (Darell) Page of Oscoda, and Beverly (John) Hart of Oscoda; five grandchildren, Alex, Melanie, and Sarah Page and Samantha and Hannah Hart; and two brothers, Keith (Roseann) Smith of Lapeer, and Gary (Karen) Smith of Oscoda. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 24 from 11 am until the funeral service at 1 pm, at the Lott Baptist Church in Glennie, MI. Pastor Elmer Ash will officiate. Burial will be in the Glennie Cemetery. Memorial donations suggested to the Lott Baptist Church Building Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
