William A. Schwickert, age 87, of Harrisville died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at home. He was born June 29, 1925 to William Jerome and Magdaline (Kircher) Schwickert in Brooklyn New York where he was raised. Bill served in the Navy in WWII. On June 30, 1945, he married Lilith Fernsemer in Detroit. They were longtime Detroit Area residents moving to Harrisville in 1971. He was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church of Harrisville and the Knights of Columbus Alcona Council 4235. Bill owned and operated Orion Mobil Radio Communication before moving to Harrisville and opening Northeast Radio Engineers which he operated until retiring. He is survived by his wife Lilith, four daughters, Joanne (Michael) Kitchen of Grand Rapids, Louise Brisbois of Raleigh, NC, Mary Schwickert of Cary, NC and Therese (Dennis) Davis of Goodrich, one son William John Schwickert of Greenbush, sixteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one sister, Magdaline Shuster of Southbury, CT.. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy on March 29, 1998 and his brother, Russell in 2009. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Harrisville with Rev. Bob Bissot officiating. Burial was in St. Anne Cemetery. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
