Ella Mae Petterson (Nee Maierle), 87, of Lost lake Woods, Lincoln, MI, passed away October 21, 2007. She was born in Pigeon, MI on Nov. 1, 1919 and was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Arnold Petterson in 1993. She is survived by two sons, Terry (Mina) Petterson of Cary, IL. and Curtis (Sharon) Peterson of Shelby Twp., MI, two granddaughters, Nicole Ripa of Shelby Twp., MI and Christine (Michael) Richardson of Spring, TX. She treasured four great grandchildren, Dominick Ripa and Reece, Reagan and Rylie Richardson. She is also survived by two sisters, Ruth (Carmen) Ginter of Lost Lake Woods, MI and Mt. Plymouth, Fl and Lucille (Al) Eurich of Essexville, MI. Ella resided in Toledo, Detroit, Hazel Park and on Long Rapids Road in Alpena before retiring with her husband of 45 years to Lost Lake Woods. She enjoyed deer hunting until she was 80 with her sons and nephews Tom Petterson and Clarence Carlson. She cherished visiting the same hair dresser and friend, Diane DeRosia of Alpena for over 40 years. Ella has followed the example of her husband and donated her remains to the University of Michigan. Her family is planning a memorial in early June 2008. Donations in Lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice of Michigan Northeastern Region or the American Cancer Society (Directed to multiple myloma research).
