Gerald J. “Jerry” Ludwiczak age 72 of Black River, died Wednesday, July 4 2012 at home. He was born March 7, 1940 in Alpena to Valentine and Elizabeth (Wolosyzk) Ludwiczak. Jerry was raised in Alpena and served in the US Navy. On October 21, 1961 he married Norma LaLonde in Black River. They have been residents of Black River since 1965. He was a machinist with Alcona Tool, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Black River and its men’s club. He was a former member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jerry was lead guitarist with “The Electras”, a local rock and roll band well known in the area for many years. He enjoyed fishing and the Red Wings. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Debra Ludwiczak of Alpena, Jennifer (Agusto) Hill of Boerne Texas, two sons, Gerald Ludwiczak Jr. of Livonia and Brian (Carrie) Ludwiczak of Wellford, South Carolina, six grandchildren, Marc Hornkohl, Austin Ludwiczak, Trevor Ludwiczak, Ashley Bridgewater, Garrett Ludwiczak and Derek Ludwiczak, two sisters, Maxine (Bud) McGraw of Montrose and Darlene Smith of Fort Walton Beach Florida and two brothers, Jack (Debbie) Ludwiczak and Tom (Cheryl) Ludwiczak both of Alpena. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Visitation will continue Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Black River until the mass at 11:00 A.M. Rev Robert Bissot will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Black River. Memorials suggested to VA Outpatient Clinic, Alpena, St. Gabriel’s Men’s Club or Hospice of Michigan.
