Carl Gustaf Johansson age 85 of Lincoln (Lost Lake Woods Club) died Thursday June 14, 2012 at the Alpena Medical Regional Medical Center. He was born September 25, 1926 in Detroit to Gustaf and Helga (Erickson) Johansson. Raised in Plymouth and Dearborn, he married Eva Marion Stout on December 4, 1948. Carl served in the US Marines during WWII where he was in the Asiatic and Pacific theatre. He was employed as a produce supplier for a grocery store chain, had been a car salesman, and owned and operated Smokey’s Bar and Grill of Hubbard Lake from 1975 until 1981. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church of Hubbard Lake. He moved to Lost Lake Woods from Detroit in 1975. His wife preceded him in death on April 30, 1992. Carl is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Louis) Gusoff of Brighton, Linda (Stephen) Hudgins of Lincoln and Carol Ann (David) Proost of Jacksonville Florida, 11 grandchildren, 17 great Grandchildren and one sister, May Louise Korsak of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd in 1961 and his granddaughter, Stephanie in 2003. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 P.M., Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln on Sunday June 17.2012 and on Monday from 10: 00 A.M. until the funeral at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Lutheran Church, Hubbard Lake. Rev. Herb Kitzman will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce.
