Archie G. Pettit

Archie G. Pettit, age 60, of Harrisville, died Tuesday May, 29, 2012 at home. He was born June 21, 1951 to William and Helen (Griffin) Pettit in Alpena. He was raised in Mikado where he was a lifelong resident. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved horticulture. Archie was a member of the sons of American Legion Post 254 of Mikado. He is survived by two brothers; William (Shalda) Pettit, Jr. of Harrisville and Doyle Pettit, one sister; Sara (Gerald Wells) Rempe of Harrisville, three Aunts; Virginia Clemens, and Betty Chase of Harrisville, and Betty June Pettit of Florida, one uncle; Elmer Pettit of South Gate, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert N. Griffin, a niece Dawn Daleen McNamara and one great nephew; Edward James “EJ” McNamara. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012, 12:00 noon, at the Mikado Community of Christ Church, Rev. Richard Karsen officiating.
