Dorothy A. Stover

Dorothy A. Stover, 83, of Barton City, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at her home. She was born May 22, 1928 in Flint to Louis and Iris (Kroupa) DeYoung. On June 11, 1949, she married Cecil Stover in Davison. They were long time residents of Lapeer, moving to Barton City in 1985. Cecil preceded her in death on January, 20, 2003. Dorothy was an active member of the Barton City Eagles Auxiliary #4141, and especially enjoyed planning the Children’s Christmas party each year. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino. She is survived by six children; Marc (Darlene) Stover of Columbiaville, Jon (Ruth Ann) Stover of Lapeer, Iris Lawrence of Oscoda, Lee (Mike) Baxter of Oscoda, Lisa Sherrill of North Branch, and Fred (Janette) Stover of Barton City, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Cremation arrangements were made by Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial Donations suggested to the Barton City Eagles Aerie #4141, attention Children’s Christmas Party.
