Fred Ross age 63 of Barton City died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at home. Born March 21, 1949, to Daniel and Clara (Badenhoop) Ross in Lincoln, raised in Barton City where he was resided for most of his life. On June 28, 1969, he married Janet Rifenbark. Fred served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He liked to cook, bake, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Burger Wiedbrauk VFW Post #8135 in Barton City. Fred is survived by his wife; Janet, one daughter; Christy (Curtis) VonFintel of Harrisville, one son; Kenneth (Staci Huntley) Ross of White Lake, four grandchildren; Daniel Abbenga, Isaak VonFintel, Rachel Ross, and Blake Huntley, three brothers; Russell (Orvilla) of Oklahoma City, Mark of Belleville and Ron (Marianne) of Mt. Clemens. He was preceded in death by his son; Mike in 1974. Mr. Ross is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call from 2 until 8 on Friday, April 13. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, April 14 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Laraine Sundin will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City.
