Michael D. Glore, 58, of Mikado, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at his home. Born September 9, 1953, to James and Alice (Drudge) Glore in Garden City MI, he was raised in Taylor. On November 11, 1977, he married Ann LaVigne in Wyandotte, and they were residents of Taylor. In 1983, they moved to Mikado and opened the Mikado Market. Mike was retired from the Alcona County Road Commission, and had also worked as a carpenter, most recently with his son Ed, at E and M Builders. He was an avid outdoorsman, and really enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also a skilled woodworker. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with this family. Mike is survived by his wife; Ann, one daughter; Erin Glore of Plymouth, one son; Edward (Melissa) Glore of Mikado, one grandson; Avery Glore of Mikado, one brother; Brian (Delores) Glore of Taylor, his mother-in-law; Mona (Rick) Rozanek of Lincoln, sister-in-law; Terrie (Jim) Hamm of Arizona, brother-in-law; Joe (Kathy) LaVigne of Harrisville, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Evan on March 14, 1997, and by his parents. Mr. Glore is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Tuesday, from 5 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado from 11 am until the funeral service at 12 noon. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery. Memorial Donations are suggested to the Mikado Goodfellows, or to Hospice of Michigan, Northeastern Unit.
