Frank W. Crandall

Frank W. Crandall, 78, Barton City, died Friday, March 9, 2012 at home. He was born September 6, 1933 in New York City to Frank J and Agnes (Buchi) Crandall. Raised in New York, he joined the Air Force in 1952 and retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1973. During his career he served in France, Vietnam, the Azores, Kinchloe AFB MI, Wurtsmith AFB MI and McGuire AFB NJ. On September 27, 1969 he married Clara McGregor. A Barton City resident since his retirement, Frank was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Burger Wiedbrauk Post 8135 of Barton City and attended St. Anne Catholic Church, Harrisville. He is survived by his wife, a stepdaughter, Diane (Bob) Shea of Eads TN, a stepson David (Jeannie) McGregor of Corunna, his sister, Vera (Tony Salemo) Schroder of New York City, one step granddaughter and two step great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln at 1:00 P.M. Military honors will be accorded by the Burger Wiedbrauk Post 8135 VFW of Barton City.
