Henry Paul Arcand, Jr. (Hammerin’ Hank), 66 years old, of Lincoln passed away at home on February 24, 2012. He was born on July 23, 1945 in Pensacola, FL to Henry Paul Arcand Sr. and Barbara Ellen (Kee) Arcand. He was preceded in death by his parents. Henry’s 60 year career in the transportation industry began at an early age; by going to work with his father at Cadillac Moving & Storage in Detroit, MI. Henry served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. Reserve, where he was active in the Toys for Tots Program in Detroit, MI. Since moving to Alcona County in 1988 Henry has been very active in the community; serving on the Alcona County Board of Canvassers and the Alcona County Fair Board. He was a member of the Lincoln Lions Club and spent many hours volunteering at the Alcona Conservation District, and in the chuck wagon of the Alcona Chapter of AYSO. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sheila; 2 daughters: Rebekka (Don) and Kimberly; 2 sons: Michael (Tracie) and Jeremy (Gidget); mother-in-law & father-in-law, Jean and Gale; 6 sisters: Barbara, Mary (Andy), Annette (Chris), Theresa (Roger), Dorothy (George), and Patricia (Dave); 2 brothers: Joseph (Tina) and James; 10 grandchildren: Zoey, Kyle, Emileigh, Hunter, Michael, Kaila, Kelly, Kayci, Karolyne and Chris; 2 great-grandsons: Dominik and Braydon; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral arrangements are through Gillies Funeral Home of Lincoln, MI; with no visitation scheduled. At the family’s request those wishing to pay their respects may make donations to either the Alcona Conservation District Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan or Hospice of Michigan.
