James E. Barkley

James E. Barkley, 62, of Harrisville died January 31, 2012 at his home. Born February 19, 1949 to Robert and Kathleen (Sloff) in Detroit, he was raised in Taylor. Jim served in the US Marines during the Vietnam Conflict. He was resident of Taylor , moving to Harrisville in 1980. A longtime truck driver, he was employed by the Arlington Concrete Company for 20 years. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed snowmobiling and golf. He is survived by his son; Dan Barkley of Dearborn Heights, daughter; Melissa Somers of Harrisville, brother; Robert Barkley of Harrisville and two grandchildren; Taylor Sobeck and Chloe Bunton. He was preceded in death by his son, James in 2009 and his wife Joan Somers on January 26, 2011. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012, 1:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation foe Family and friends will begin at 12:00 P.M..
