Robert F. Dickinson, 91, of Lincoln Michigan (Lost Lake Woods) passed away on Tuesday November 29 at Lincoln Haven Nursing Home. He was born to Ernest and Emma (Faist) Dickinson on July 15,1920 in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Stockbridge High school and went on to earn a BA degree from Alma College and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by GMC and Ford Motor Company before owning and operating a Gambles store in Saline Michigan. He retired and moved to Lost Lake Woods in 1973. While residing at Lost Lake, he taught business classes at Alpena Community College and was awarded Professor Emeritus status upon retirement. Mr. Dickinson was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette (English) Dickinson. He is survived by his children and spouses; Robert (Ruth) Dickinson of Cheboygan, Diane(Larry) Klumpp of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Barbara (Larry) Lieb of Lake Orion; grand children Kelly (Lt. Colonel Kenneth) Mershon, Matthew Klumpp, Jennifer Lieb, and Steven Lieb; great grand children Morgan and Erin Mershon. The date for a spring 2012 memorial service at Spruce Presbyterian Church will be published in a future edition of the Alpena News.
