Wm. Leonard Broadwood, 94, of Harrisville, passed away Saturday November 12, 2011 at Jamieson Nursing Home. Born August 4, 1917 to Albert and Mary (Emerick) Broadwood, in Flint, he was a lifelong resident of Alcona County. On October 5, 1946, he married Mary Vukovich, and they owned and operated a farm. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2003. He was a baseball player in the county leagues. He loved the Tigers, Pistons, Wolverines, and Spartans, and he was an avid deer hunter. Len was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and participated in county and township affairs. He is survived by his son; Albert (Gina) Broadwood of Harrisville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister; Alexina Jack of Lincoln, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; George and Lloyd Broadwood, one sister; Eugene (Keith) Collins, and by his brother-in-law; Bud Jack. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Mikado. Fr. Bob Bissot will officiate. Burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery.
