Born April 21, 1944 in Harrisville, MI and died Nov. 3, 2011, in the emergency room at Alpena Regional Medical Center of heart failure. He had been in bad health for some time. Bob was the son of Hubert Hale Ferguson and Mary Mackenzie Ferguson. Bob was raised with his mother Mary in the home of his grandparents George G. and Myrtle Hale Ferguson on Huron Ave. in Harrisville at the family home known as Willow Beach after the death of his father Hubert who died of wounds while serving with the Army in France during World War 11. Bob attended Harrisville High School and a gun smith school for a time. In the 1960’s Bob moved to Lafayette Indiana where he was employed in Grounds Maintenance for Purdue University. He later returned to his home roots of Harrisville. Bob was a home town boy at heart. He had an interest and hobby in photography and he liked to fish. While working at a saw mill there was an accident which left Bob disabled. Bob is survived by: a sister – Diana Ferguson McMaster (husband Loran) of Romney, IN, two nieces: Jessie McMaster Howell (husband Robert Howell) of St. Joseph MI and Beth MacAskill Spooner(husband Ralph Spooner) of Holland, MI. six nephews: George, Jim and Bill Ferguson of Dixon, TN , Jeff McMaster of Romney, IN ,William McMaster (wife Sandy) of Fountain, CO., Brian MacAskill (wife Cheryl) of Flushing, MI several grt. nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: his mother Florence Green Ferguson Lyons, his father Hubert Hale Ferguson, his brother, Hubert Kenneth “Ken” Ferguson, and his sister, Suzanne Louise Ferguson MacAskill. (husband Ernest M. MacAskill deceased) Final arrangements for cremation are being handled by Gillies Funeral Home. There will be no viewing or services.
