Ethel E. Furister, 82, of Greenbush, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her home. Born January 3, 1929, in Hungary, she was raised there. She escaped during the Hungarian Revolution, and later moved to America in 1969. On May 22, 1993 she married Preston Furister in Greenbush where they resided. Ethel belonged to the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville and sang in their choir. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #184 in Lincoln. Ethel especially enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and meals at the Lincoln Senior Center. In the winter time she and her husband wintered in Weslaco, Texas near the Rio Grande River. She is survived by her husband, four stepchildren; Daniel Furister of Clinton Township, Diane (Paul) Ruegsegger of Pinconning, Karen (John) Maricak of Clinton Township and Dale (Beth) Furister of Bay City; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother and one sister. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Leslie Olah in 1991, and by one brother. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11 am at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. Rev. Tom Welscott will officiate. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 10:30. Cremation arrangements were handled by Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
