Edward E. Atchison, 83, of Harrisville died Monday, July 16, 2007 at home. Born December 16, 1923 in Harrisville to John and Beatrice (Dunn) Atchison, he graduated from Harrisville High School. Ed served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was stationed at Timian Island from where the plane was loaded for the launching of the Atomic Bomb. Ed married Julia E. Slater on October 13, 1943. Long time Harrisville residents, they resided in Marathon Key, Florida from 1970 until 1987 returning to Harrisville. He was a carpenter, having built many homes. Survivors include his wife and two sons Dennis (Janet) of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Edward (Jan) of Harrisville, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one sister Vivian Gray of Flint and one brother, Milo of Harrisville. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at Springport Cemetery in Harrisville with Rev. Tracy Brooks officiating. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
