Gertrude Irene Stanley

Gertrude Irene Stanley, 82, of Greenbush, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Born January 10, 1929 to Herbert and Gertrude Anna (Lake) Farrand in Mikado, she was raised in Tawas. She worked in a Rehabilitation Home as a Therapeutic Recreation Assistant. On October 10, 1982, she married Billy Stanley in Pontiac. They retired to Greenbush in 1995. Irene was a life member of the Community of Christ Church in Tawas. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed sewing; especially clothing, having made all of the bridesmaids’ dresses for her wedding. She is survived by her husband; Billy, one son, two stepchildren, and her sister; Helen Belcher of Tawas. Cremation arrangements were handled through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Community of Christ Church, 429 Matthews Street, Tawas City, MI.
