Harley Henry Hopp, 94, of Glennie passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Home of Ausable in Fairview. Born January 22, 1917 to Henry and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Monahan) Hopp in Rogers City MI, he was raised there. A 1935 graduate of Rogers City High School, Harley was a fullback on the State Championship football team. Harley lived in Pontiac MI and worked for Berry Door, and lived in Green Bay WI, working as a welder for 17 years before returning to Northeastern Michigan. He is survived by his son; Harley R. Hopp (Jo Tanner-Hopp) of Glennie, three grandchildren; Dawn Harroun, Wendy Shinde and Gary C. Hopp, and four great grandchildren; Andrew, Heather, Priya, and Ajaay. He was preceded in death by two sons; Gary V. Hopp and Edward C. Hopp, his brother; Clayton Hopp, and his wives; Ava Hopp and Syble Hopp. Cremation arrangements handled through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, MI.
