Helen Virginia Janisse

Helen V. Janisse, 85, of Harrisville died Thursday, July 14, 2007 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Helen was born January 2, 1922 in Detroit to Andrew and Margaret (Koziol) Gwozdz. Raised in Hamtramck, and a resident there most of her life. Helen married William Janisse in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1957. Helen was employed by Crowley’s department store in downtown Detroit for 28 years. She has been a resident of Harrisville for two years and was a former member of the Liberty Temple Church. Survivors include her daughter, Gail (Tony) Ali of Harrisville and three grandchildren, Zachary Ali, Jason Ahmed and Samir Ahmed. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Gillies Funeral home, Lincoln with Rev. Tedd Galloway officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Harrisville.
